Meeting Discussion Items:
1. Treasurer’s report – Terry brought year end summary and gave Tammy all paperwork. Terry suggested leaving $400-$500 in the checking account and moving the rest to savings. It was decided to leave the balance as is until a laptop, Quick Books, and flash drives can be purchased. Tammy will get pricing on laptop through work and will report at next meeting. The fryer was purchased and all outstanding checks have been accounted for. Acceptance of the Treasury Report was motioned by Tammy Sheibley and seconded by Scott Mutzabaugh. The motion carried.
2. Equipment Turn-in – All coaches are expected to turn in their equipment at Penn Township on November 2, 2008 at 2PM. Steve created an inventory list for coaches to use when they turn in their equipment.
3. League Meeting – Perry County Girls
Softball League meeting will be held on October 26, 2008 at 6PM at Penn
Township. Kelly Hammaker is the league secretary and will represent DAGSA.
4. By-Law Amendments: Article 7 – Mike will
re-write to include additional fee collected as a deposit for volunteer work
during the season. A separate sign-up sheet will be on hand at registration where
parents can sign-up for specific duties and times. Parents will need to work
two shifts to receive their refund. DAGSA will not cash the additional payment
until end of the season. Only another family member may substitute a volunteer
shift. Regular season games to not count towards time. Head coaches will be
exonerated from volunteer duty. Tammy will get a copy of the letter drafted for
football. DAGSA will mail a letter to all parents with the registration
notification. Mike will write up exact wording and email it to the board.

9 – All assistant coaches will need to have background checks. DAGSA
will obtain checks through ASA for those that do not have one on file. DAGSA
will pay the fees. Motioned by Ron Baker, seconded by Shannon Callaghan, motion
carried.

10 – All equipment will be returned by the 1st Sunday in
November at the large shed at Penn Township. Keys will also be turned in at
that time. Motioned by Tammy Sheibley, seconded by Timi Lesperance, motion
carried.

11 – Allowance of girls to be moved from one team to another on a case
by case basis. Motioned by Tammy Sheibley, seconded by Scott Mutzabaugh, motion
carried.
Article
14 – All Star Teams will have no more than 14 players. All Stars teams
will consist of DAGSA players only. DAGSA will fund only 2 All-Star
tournaments. – TBD at next meeting
5. Sign ups: Sign ups will be on Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 1-3 PM, and Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from 6-8PM. Additional dates and times TBD. Volunteers are needed. Information about volunteer dues to be displayed at sign-ups.
6. Concessions: Shannon Callaghan will be
the coordinator for Penn Township. Timi Lesperance will be for Wagner. Two
other parents will serve as assistants to help maintain stock and inventory of
the stands. Gloves will be used for any open food item. Two will serve in stand
at all times. One will handle money, one will handle food.
7.
Fields: Jason
Urich has volunteered to take over for Jerry Rohrer.
8.
Meeting minutes: Future
meeting minutes will be emailed to Steve Crider and posted on the DAGSA website
for public view.
