DAGSA Board Meeting Minutes

Attendees: Timi Lesperance, Tammy Sheibley, Kelly Hammaker, Bob Armstrong, Ron Baker, Jim Reed, Phil Klinger, Mike Humphrey

Meeting Discussion Items:

1.       League Meeting – Discussed new age brackets for next year– the entire league will adopt age group changes as follows. U-10 slow pitch will remain the same. U-12 & U14 will combine to form U-14 and play by U-14 rules. U-18 will remain the same. There will be no changes to age groups for fast pitch.

ASA bat rules will be in effect for the league.

The league discussed changing the umpire fees for next year.

2.       Draft - In light of the new age groups, DAGSA will be forced to hold an open draft for all girls in the U-14 age bracket. Girls that were born in 1995 and 1997 that played last year for DAGSA and would not normally be moving up to a new age bracket, but will be impacted by the draft,  will have their shirts provided by DAGSA. Motion for DAGSA to cover shirts was made by Timi Lesperance, seconded by Tammy Sheibley. Motion passed unanimously.

3.       Registration Fees – will be increased to $55 for the 2010 season. Concession fees will remain at $30 for next season. Motion made by Jim Reed, seconded by Rob Baker. Motion passed unanimously.

4.       Concessions – discussed having a concession committee made up of several members. It was also discussed that DAGSA will no longer sell hot food items at normal season games. Cold drinks and snacks will be available and hotdogs on the stovetop ,to avoid excess use of propane and wasted food. All hot grilled food items will be served at all tournaments. No motion was made or passed.

5.       Open Discussion: Coaches interested in coaching the new age group will need to submit a notice of interest to the Board, via letter or email to Mike Humphrey. Coaching positions with more than one interested party will be voted on by the Board.

Kelly Hammaker needs reimbursed for the upright freezer she purchased on behalf of DAGSA. Mo Matthiew’s freezer will be removed this winter. 

Timi Lesperance will redraft the letter to the parents.
