DAGSA Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting Discussion Items:

1.       Call to Order – Meeting called to order at 3:07 PM by Ron Baker.

2.       Meeting Minutes –motion to approve January board meeting minutes – Jason Urich, second – Bob Armstrong; motion passed. Minutes were accepted.

3.       Treasury Report -  Deposit was made for registrations and sponsorships – current balance is $12,782.20. There is still another deposit to be made for sponsorships. Sponsorship total received to date is $2650.00. Motion to approve the treasury report – Jim Reed, second – Andy Kreiger; motion passed.

4.       Opening Day– Confirmed opening day will be April 16, 2011 starting at 8:00 AM. Pictures will begin at 9:00 AM and will be in the board room of the Penn Twp building. All teams will play two games, with the exception of U18, which will play one game. Kelly will check with the Boy Scouts about the flag display. We need someone to sing the National Anthem. Friday night set-up will begin at 6:00 on April 15.

5.       By-Laws -  Article IV § B needs amended to add governance by the West Shore League. Article XV § H – all stars teams needs amended to add “2 alternates” for the team selection. Change 14 players to “12 players with 2 alternates”.

6.       Player Appreciation – Confirmed date of June 15th, rain date of June 16th. No games are to be scheduled for any teams on June 15th.  

7.       Sign-ups/Draft – We currently have 174 registered to play for 2011. The draft will be on Monday, February 21st at 6 PM at Penn Twp.

8.       Sponsorship Report – The undesignated sponsors will go to random teams starting with the youngest age groups first. The deadline to obtain team sponsorships is March 1st and general sponsorships by April 1st so we have time to complete the programs.

9.       Opening Day Programs – Huggins printing will produce the programs this year. Tammy and Timi will work on the layout to submit to Huggins. Timi and Nancy will check the proof before production.  We will order 250 programs for 2011.

10.   Shirts – Tammy will order team shirts immediately following the draft.

11.   Ball Ordering -  Mike Humphrey offered to order the game and tournament balls for the 2011 season. He can get a lower price than anyone else.

12.   Scheduling – U10 and TBall scheduling will be on Monday, March 28th at Penn at 6:00 Scheduling for U14 and U18 will be on March 19th in Wellsville with the West Shore League. FP scheduling will be Sun, Feb 27th at 3:00 at Swenson’s.

13.   Coaches Meeting – There will be a mandatory coaches meeting on March 5th at 8:30 AM at Penn Township. If head coaches can not attend, assistant coaches must.

14.   Wagner/Wheatfield Recreation Board Meetings – Tammy and Jason will attend the meetings.

15.   Open Discussion – Ron is trying to get a tractor donated for Wagner.
- Dauphin has one TBall team, they requested scheduling with DAGSA
- Timi will renew the Small Games of Chance License for 2011  
- Will have Steve post information about West Shore League bat regulations so parents do not purchase the wrong bats for 2011.
