DAGSA Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting:             Sunday, Dec. 12, 2011 at 6:30 PM at Penn Township Municipal Building

Meeting Discussion Items:

1.     Call to Order – Meeting called to order at 6:07 PM by Ron Baker.

2.     Treasury Report  - No real changes. Received notice to renew web hosting. Motion made by Timi Lesperance to host for two years, seconded by Jason Urich. Motion passed to renew for two years at $190.80.

3.     Officers– All existing officer positions will remain the same for the 2012 season. Ron Baker – President, Jim Reed – Vice President, Timi Lesperance – Secretary, Tammy Sheibley – Treasurer. Phil Klinger renewed his board membership for another 3 years.

4.     Concessions -  Huey’s has not returned any calls for next year. Pam Foulds is unable to fulfill our needs. Concessions will be reinstated. Motion was raised to reinstate the concession fee and raise it to $40 by Jason Urich, seconded by Tammy Sheibley. Motion passed. The new fee will be $40 and will received as post-dated check for June 30th. Each family must serve two time slots to receive their check back. The checks will be cashed at the end of the season. Discussion to keep U18 and tee ball games at Penn and just sell beverages and non-perishables (gum, candy, chips) and keep the full concession at Wagner with all remaining age groups playing there only.  In addition to concessions, DAGSA will be sponsoring a sandwich/sub sale before the season begins. Still need to discuss price.   Information will be added to the parents’ letter. We won’t know until Feb if the 3rd field at Wagner will be ready for use for 2012.

5.     Sponsorships – Tammy only received 1 check from Maguire’s. 2 from last year declined (Holler’s and Morris’s) The sponsorship discount is only good until Dec. 31. Jim will ask Duncannon Sportsman Association.  

6.     Parent’s Letter – Tammy will print letters and extract the query from the database for labels. The registration fees will remain at $15 for t-ball and $55 for all other age groups. There will be no shirt fee for the season. Tammy will email for help on stuffing envelopes.

7.     Open Discussion – Shannon Callaghan’s request will be moved to January meeting.  
Firecracker tournament will not be held by CV according to emails that Phil received. DAGSA might host it. Potential date of July 6-8. Tammy will check against All-Star States tournament dates.
U-10 playoffs will be on June 8-10th.
Ron received an email about another company doing the photos. The board decided to keep Michele Evinger since she is local and we have not had any problems. Pictures will be on April 21st.
We will conduct a Mutzy’s sandwich sale in early spring.
Registration dates are Jan 14th from 1-3 and Jan. 18th from 6-8
Opening Day will be April 21st with a rain date of April 22nd.
There is a ball change for slow pitch

8.     Next Meeting- Dec. 22 at 6pm at Sorrento’s.
