MEETING
Minutes
02/11/14
The meeting of the DAGSA Board
was held on February 11, 2014. Board
Members present were Ron Baker, Tammy Sheibly, Jen Swails, Jason Urich, Andy
Kreiger, Jason Brouse, Jim Evans, Mike Brandt and Heath Sands.
Absent: Lindsey Melnick
The meeting was called to
order at 7:40 pm by President Ron Baker.
Meeting Minutes:
Correction
to meeting minutes from 2/4/14 to notate that Heath Sands and Jason Brouse were
present for that meeting.
New Business
Due to
the need to add new teams to several age groups, the by-laws were once again
reviewed and amended.
Article
XIII, Section C: Amended to read: In the event that a team is added to an age group, the draft order will
have the new team picking first in the first round and that team will continue
to pick until it reaches the lowest number of players on the other teams in the
age group. The draft will then proceed
to Step B.
AK motioned to amend,
JE second. Amendment Approved.
OLD Business
Have
not received much interest from Marysville girls wanting to play for DAGSA.
Additional
coaches interest was reviewed and voted on.
10U Slow:
An
additional team will need to be added with 55 girls signed up to play this
season. Coaching will be finalized as
soon as possible.
12 U Slow/14 Slow:
16
girls 12 U and 9girls in 14U – will need to review ability/need to have a
rotating team as done in the past.
Several 12 year old girls will be contacted to see if they would like to
play up to the 14 U slow pitch age bracket as they currently only have 9 girls
signed up.
14U Fast
Will
need to add a team to make two 14U fast pitch teams.
Jason
Urich, TS motioned, JB second. Approved.
12U Fast – There will be no 12Ufast
18U Slow:
20
girls are signed up to play 18U. Board will
need to review ability to have a rotating team as has been done in different
age groups in the past.
Food Safety
Keith
Walters contacted Ron to discus members of the Board who may want to attend a
food safety training to be held mid March at Road Hawg. Individuals attending will receive
certification in catering and food safety.
Jen Swails will attend as well as other members of the board, if
available.
Report from Penn Twp Meeting
March 29th will be the chicken BBQ. Players will be asked to sell tickets to
support the township/recreation association.
Tickets will handed out to coaches at the Coaches Meeting.
March 27th is prep day and any parents that are able to
help set up can use this towards their concession/volunteer fee reimbursement.
Coaches Meeting/Equipment
Hand out is scheduled for March 9th
at 3 pm at Penn Twp Bldg.
Field Days
Penn
Township is scheduled for March 15th at 12 pm.
Wagner
Park is scheduled for March 22nd at 12 pm.
Parents
are reminded these dates can be counted towards the concession/volunteer fee
reimbursement.
Draft
is scheduled for Sunday February 16, 2014 at 7:30 pm at Penn Twp Bldg.
